Q: You use the acronym “QMS” a lot. What does that mean?

A: QMS stands for Quality Management System. In healthcare, this system is comprised of the necessary resources for driving value and balancing the quality/cost equation. The fundamental aim is successful outcomes. Core capabilities of the QMS include: quality planning, quality assurance, performance measurement, process improvement, data management and analysis, accreditation, regulatory compliance, and strategy execution. The modern QMS is a relatively new phenomenon in healthcare; it’s more holistic and integrated than traditional styles. It is also regarded as more of a strategy than a “department”. The modern QMS embraces skill multiplicity including for example: clinical, patient safety, patient satisfaction, care management, informatics, project management, process improvement, productivity, and cost accounting. In our view, the modern QMS is fundamental to succeeding as a low cost, high quality provider.

Q: What is the difference between Opt2Lead’s SERVICE and SOLUTION offerings?

A: Opt2Lead’s SOLUTIONS are organized blueprints for driving whole-system improvement whereas SERVICES are project-focused interventions, training, or operational support. Within our four SOLUTION sets, engagement activities are “bundled” to incorporate a sequence of strategic interventions for achieving a system outcome. Opt2Lead SERVICES are tailored to confront a wide range of quality challenges on a departmental or individual project scale for achieving a unit-based outcome.
